Cardross Parish Church Celebrates 150th Anniversary

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Cardross Parish Church on celebrating its 150th Anniversary; understands that Reverend Maggie McArthur received the moderator of the Church of Scotland’s General Assembly, Baron Wallace of Tankerness, to give a sermon; understands that the parishioners enjoyed the celebrations and placed a plaque by a recently-planted apple tree to commemorate the occasion, and notes that there has been a Christian church in Cardross since the 12th century and that the current building has been in continuous use as a church since 1872.
