The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Vattenfall for receiving £9.3 million in innovation funding from the UK Government's Net Zero Innovation Portfolio Low Carbon Hydrogen Supply 2 fund; understands that the funding will be used to develop the world’s first hydrogen-producing electrolyser co-located on an offshore wind turbine; notes that the offshore electrolyser, at the Aberdeen Bay wind farm, will have an estimated output of 8 MW and will be able to produce enough hydrogen every day to power a hydrogen bus to travel 15,000 miles; applauds the work that Vattenfall is doing to help transition the UK to net zero through the use of fossil-free hydrogen, and hopes that the project, which is expected to start production by 2025, will be a success.
