Aberdeenshire Council's Parking Buddies Initiative

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes what it sees as the innovative approach by Aberdeenshire Council, which has introduced "Parking Buddies" to improve road safety at St Andrews School in Fraserburgh; understands that the Parking Buddies are aluminium cut-outs of school pupils that tell drivers to "think before you park" and discourage them from parking their cars in front of school crossings to help increase safer access to the school; applauds this safety initiative, which also promotes active travel as a way to travel to school, reducing congestion and air pollution, and hopes that it is a great success.
