Melody Sinclair Whitley Awarded BEM for Services to Homeless People in Glasgow
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Melody Sinclair Whitley of Alexandria for being awarded a British Empire Medal in the Queen's Birthday Honours List for services to homeless people in Glasgow; notes that Melody first started volunteering for the homeless over seven years ago and now leads a team of 50 volunteers; understands that Melody went to huge lengths to ensure meals were still provided to the homeless during recent COVID-19 lockdown periods, which required her to source food from nearby restaurants and cook many meals herself, and thanks Melody for her commitment to helping the homeless, which, it understands, has often seen her working over 20 hours a day, seven days a week.
