Sally Ann Kelly Receives OBE

The motion

That the Parliament commends Sally Ann Kelly of Kilmarnock on being awarded an OBE for her services to children and families in the Queen’s 2022 Birthday Honours; understands that Sally Ann, who has been chief executive of children’s charity Aberlour since 2014, has spent her entire 30-year career working to support children and families in Scotland facing disadvantage or adversity, spending 18 years as a social worker before becoming director of Children’s Services Operations at Barnardo’s, before taking on her current role at Aberlour; recognises what it sees as her commitment to working with local and national governments to improve the lives of many of the country's most disadvantaged families and children; acknowledges what it considers as her reputation for persistence, alongside her dedication to fairness and equality, all of which, it believes, has earned her the respect of politicians and peers across the country; congratulates Sally Ann Kelly on receiving this award, and wishes her continued success in the future.
