UK Government’s Zambia Health Systems Strengthening Programme
The motion
That the Parliament recognises what it sees as the UK Government's efforts in Zambia to improve the health of women and girls across the continuum of care from birth to motherhood; understands that this programme aims to reduce child and maternal deaths by 25% and 15%, respectively, and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal for health; notes that the programme runs from August 2016 to June 2022, with a projected budget of £36 million, and a total spend of £35.9 million to date; commends what it sees as the UK Government's efforts in Zambia, and wishes this programme and everyone involved nothing but success.
