The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Janis Heaney of Kilmarnock on being appointed an MBE for services to public health in Scotland during COVID-19 as part of the Queen's Birthday Honours 2022; commends what it sees as her spirit of collaboration with a number or public bodies and organisations, including the UK Government, in her role as the acting associate director for Covid testing at NHS National Services Scotland, which, it believes, enabled her to work quickly and effectively in the best interest of Scotland’s public health; notes what it sees as her commitment to encourage, motivate and develop the talents of others through her participation in projects such as Scotland’s International Women’s Day videos, which aimed to inspire the next generation of female leaders; recognises Janis’ long career in public service across various bodies, such as Skills Development Scotland and the Scottish Qualifications Authority, and wishes her well for the future.
