Laila Kennedy Elected President of the Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes Laila Kennedy as the newly-elected president of the Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association for 2022-2023; notes that the Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association is a non-profit organisation, which educates, entertains and represents young lawyers in Scotland, with 4,300 members across the country; understands that Laila Kennedy created a series called Connecting Trainees, which allows trainees to meet each other and share tips while working remotely; further understands that in 2022-23 Laila Kennedy is looking to encourage more inclusivity into the legal profession, co-ordinate a series looking at mental health and update the website to a more user-friendly platform; applauds all the hard work done by the Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association and Patricia Taylor, Amina Amin, Brianella Scott, Kerri Montgomery, Amanjit Uppal, Chiara Pieri, Millie Shand, Katrina Hall, Giorgio Ventisei, Heather Gibson, and Sophie Campbell, who make up the new committee, and wishes Laila Kennedy and all at the Scottish Young Lawyers’ Association all the best with the future.
