West College Scotland Win Double Awards at the Herald Higher Education Awards

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates West College Scotland on receiving two awards at the Herald Higher Education awards 2022; notes that the college's James Frew Academy, a bespoke apprenticeship training programme developed in partnership with local plumbing and heating company, James Frew Ltd, received the award for Outstanding Business Engagement in Colleges; commends the collaborative nature of the partnership which, it believes, is essential in helping to improve the life chances of a young workforce; understands that another award was for the Your Employability Skills (YES) project, a personalised learning programme for individuals with multiple barriers into employment and education, which was recognised with the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion award; appreciates the efforts, creativity and dedication of Liz Connolly, principal and chief executive of West College Scotland, and her staff, on winning these two prestigious awards, and wishes the college and its students all the success for the future.
