Naming of Jubilee Drive

The motion

That the Parliament commends the Aberdeenshire councillors who sit on the Garioch Area Committee for, it understands, unanimously agreeing to rename a section of the A944 between Aberdeen and Westhill "Jubilee Drive"; understands that the idea initially came from Westhill and Elrick Community Council and commends them for coming up with what it sees as this fitting tribute to mark Her Majesty the Queen’s 70 years on the throne; further understands that shrubs and trees will be planted either side of Jubilee Drive as a further tribute to Her Majesty, and congratulates everyone in Aberdeenshire West who organised events that brought together communities in celebration of Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
