Ayr Rotary Club Raises Funds for Water Charity

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Ayr’s Rotary Club on the success of its recent event that saw it raise £2,600 for Aquabox, a Rotarian water charity; understands that the charity provides equipment to ensure safe and clean water is available for those who live in impoverished conditions; notes that the event took place on 8 May 2022 along Ayr’s promenade; understands that the walkers collected sponsors for their walk, during which they walked the length of the promenade carrying water; acknowledges that the significance of carrying water was to echo the reality of those experiencing water poverty; commends Ayr’s Rotary Club for its hard work, and wishes everyone involved well on future events.
