Myeloma Awareness Week 2022
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes Myeloma Awareness Week, which takes place from 20 to 26 June 2022, and recognises that myeloma is a less common, incurable blood cancer that affects approximately 2,000 people in Scotland; expresses concern at reports that one in four myeloma patients wait over 10 months for a correct diagnosis; notes that evidence from Myeloma UK shows that a delay in diagnosis can have a significant impact on quality of life; encourages people experiencing the most common symptoms of myeloma, which include fatigue, back pain, recurring infections, or broken bones, to visit their GP, and calls upon all members across the Scottish Parliament to do all that they can to help raise awareness of myeloma.
