20th Anniversary of the Fife-based International Fire and Rescue Association Charity

The motion

That the Parliament celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Fife-based, International Fire and Rescue Association (IFRA) charity; endorses IFRA’s mission statement to promote the preservation and protection of life from fire and other disasters; recognises what it sees as the outstanding humanitarian support that they have provided to countries affected by war, civil unrest and natural disaster; examples of such support include 24 countries helped, 107 vehicles sent around the world, 75 containers of equipment provided and 72 training missions arranged; congratulates IFRA on being the only fire service charity to have received the prestigious honour of The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service; commends what it sees as the tireless efforts of the volunteers of IFRA who, it understands, dedicate themselves to helping others across the world, keep their communities safe, and wishes them all the best for the future.
