Republic of Pakistan 76th Independence Day

The motion

That the Parliament marks the 76th Independence Day of the Republic of Pakistan on 14 August 2022; congratulates all those celebrating in the UK and Pakistan; recognises what it sees as the considerable achievements of the Republic since its independence; notes the well established relationship between Scotland and Pakistan; commends the ongoing work to maintain meaningful links between the two nations; understands that the Pakistani diaspora in Scotland extends to over 80,000 residents, and thanks them for making Scotland a more vibrant and culturally diverse place to live.
