Congratulating Dunfermline Advocacy as it Celebrates 30 Years’ Service

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Dunfermline Advocacy as it celebrates 30 years’ service in West Fife; understands that the organisation is based in Dunfermline, Fife, and brings together citizen advocacy partnerships where local volunteers are partnered with vulnerable adults to provide long and short-term friendships and support; notes that citizen advocacy aims to build lasting, meaningful connections and mutually beneficial relationships where volunteers provide support and share information to broaden opportunities and speak up for those who may not otherwise have their needs represented; appreciates that citizen advocates are volunteers from all walks of life who want to help others in their community, and is grateful that and they take time out of their busy lives to support people in their community who may not otherwise be able to put their own interests forward; acknowledges that staff, volunteers and advocacy partners have adapted well during the COVID-19 pandemic, using different ways to keep in touch to ensure partners have access to necessary services; understands that Dunfermline Advocacy is hosting a 30th Anniversary Celebration event at Fire Station Creative, Carnegie Drive, Dunfermline, on 15 September 2022, and extends its very best wishes for the success of the event and continued success of the service.
