Alloa Rotary Tour de Clacks for Prostate Cancer

The motion

That the Parliament is enthused that a cycle ride around Clackmannanshire at the start of September 2022 is set to raise awareness of, and funds for tackling, prostate cancer, placing an emphasis on the importance of an early diagnosis; acknowledges that Alloa Rotary Club will be joining Rotarian counterparts across the UK by hosting the Rotary Ride for Prostate Cancer; notes that this local initiative, also known as Tour de Clacks, will take participants across the Wee County on 4 September 2022, as part of a national drive aimed at supporting prostate cancer charities and increasing awareness of the disease; believes that the Clackmannanshire club will be raising funds for Prostate Scotland, a charity set up to provide information, advice and help on prostate health and disease testing and treatments; notes that the Tour de Clacks will take place over a 22 km circular route starting at the pedestrian bridge to the west of Alloa Railway Station and following along designated paths of the National Cycle Network and routes for walking, cycling, wheeling and exploring outdoors; commends Alloa Rotary and all involved for their excellent work, and wishes everyone taking part all the very best for a great day and safe riding.
