The motion

That the Parliament congratulates staff at an Alloa salon who donned pink and made baked goods last week in a show of support for the charity Breast Cancer Now; understands that the business, Rhona McCallum Hair, went pink on 25 August 2022 to raise funds for the charity with efforts set to continue on an ongoing basis; believes that, as well as offering home baking, the salon staged demonstrations and specialist styling sessions for customers as it sought to raise funds and awareness for the good cause; notes that this is now an annual affair, with business proprietor, Rhona, and the stylists, looking to raise funds for the charity each year as it supports women, whilst driving forward research with a collective vision that, by 2050, everyone with breast cancer lives, and lives well; understands that Breast Cancer Now is the largest breast cancer charity in the UK, which was formed in 2015 by the merger of Breast Cancer Campaign and Breakthrough Breast Cancer, and concentrates on many ongoing projects, including its help to fund the Breast Cancer Now Toby Robins Research Centre at the Institute of Cancer Research in London, which employs 120 scientists and clinicians, and commends Rhona and all her staff and customers on their charitable work for the benefit of others.
