Praveen and Swarna Kumar SPICE Awards Success

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Praveen and Swarna Kumar on their recent receipt of the prestigious Outstanding Contribution (Central Region) award at what it considers Scotland’s premier independent curry event, the SPICE awards; believes that the award is testament to the Perth couple’s efforts to boost the Indian food industry in Scotland; understands that their family business includes, Tabla Restaurant, the Indian Cook School and Praveen Kumar Authentic Indian Cuisine, which, it understands, is a popular brand of ready meal takeaways; understands that Praveen and Swarna have been building their business for 13 years and work with local suppliers and source local ingredients for their food; further understands that the Kumars received further acclaim at the SPICE awards winning Best Takeaway (Central) for Praveen Kumar Authentic Indian Cuisine, and runner up in the category of Best Restaurant (Central) for Tabla Restaurant, and wishes Praveen and Swarna every success in their future business endeavours, including expanding their business through their current crowdfunding campaign.
