Glasgow Volunteers Knit for Winter

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Anna Malone and the 50 volunteers who have joined a Glasgow initiative to knit blankets this winter for anyone who needs them; notes that the initiative was started by Gorbals local, Anna Malone after purchasing £350 worth of wool and knitting needles; understands that Anna gave the wool and needles away to anyone who contacted her through local church bulletins; notes that the volunteers are at different stages of knitting, from beginners to those who have been knitting for years; understands that the blankets, upon completion, will be donated to a number of charities around Glasgow, and that the volunteers are also giving away hot water bottles and hand-written notes, including a poem, and notes that the collective have so far donated three blankets and plan to knit more throughout the winter.
