The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the news that Microsoft Education has once again recognised Forth Valley College as a Showcase School for 2022-23; believes that the accolade shows that the college has been leading the way in the Scottish college sector in the field of online and remote learning before, during, and as people have emerged from the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown restrictions; considers that Microsoft Showcase Schools are seen as pioneers in education, and are held up as an elite group of schools that exemplify the best of teaching and learning in the world today, with only a few institutions earning this designation; notes that Jennifer Nisbet, Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, and Learning and Digital Skills Academy (LDSA) Project Lead, has confirmed that achieving the Showcase School title is a challenge, but to retain the status is even harder; commends Forth Valley College staff, which Microsoft Education says have shown incredible resilience and commitment to their digital learning and development, and the LDSA as it continues to build strong digital support for staff and students, and congratulates Forth Valley College, its principal, Ken Thomson, and all their staff and students for their truly excellent achievement.
