Millie Boo Wins Riding for the Disabled National Championships
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates 15-year-old Millie Boo Smith, from Stirling, for coming in first place at the Riding for the Disabled (RDA) National Championships, which was held virtually in August after the physical event in Gloucester was cancelled in July due to heatwave; understands that Millie Boo was born 14 weeks early in 2006, and has cerebral palsy and bilateral hearing loss, however this has not held her back, having won with a score of 71.9%; further understands that this ranks as one of Millie’s best dressage scores in a national championship, and was higher than the senior riders in her disability class (grade 2); commends what it considers the hard work that has gone into Millie’s success and the inspiration she gives to other young people, and wishes Millie the best of luck for the National Virtual RDA Championships in October and all that lies ahead as she celebrates her 16th birthday and enters into adulthood, where she will compete with adult and senior riders in future events.
