Trimontium Trust Receives National Lottery Heritage Funding
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Trimontium Trust SCIO on securing a grant of £85,000 from The National Lottery Heritage Fund; notes that the Trimontium Trust is a charitable organisation that exists to increase knowledge and community awareness of the Roman Fort at Newstead and the Roman Iron Age in Southern Scotland, with a museum dedicated to collecting and conserving archaeological material from the Roman Iron Age in Melrose; further notes that this funding will go towards The Digital Romans project which, it understands, seeks to improve inclusion and access to such heritage through increased provision of digital resources, focussing on educational opportunities for people with disabilities, by working in partnership with Upmo, which is an organisation based in Edinburgh; believes that such projects are an important part of making history available to everyone, regardless of ability or background, and congratulates all involved in securing this funding.
