"Pied Piper of Southerness" Nominated for National Award for Fundraising Work
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Ian Baird of Kirkbean, Dumfries and Galloway on being nominated for 2022 Pride of Britain award for his outstanding and continuous fundraising efforts on behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support and a number of other local charities; commends Ian, also known as the "Pied Piper of Southerness" for inspiring people locally, nationally and even internationally to take part in his challenges alongside him; notes that Ian takes on a cycling challenge for charity every year; praises Ian for helping to raise awareness of Macmillan Cancer Support’s local services in Dumfries and Galloway, which help to ensure that everyone who is affected by cancer locally has the support that they need, and thanks Ian for all the work he does to raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support to ensure that no one faces cancer alone.
