Dalgety Bay Mum Runs Marathon in Splints to Inspire Son

The motion

That the Parliament recognises Vivian Maeda, who completed a half marathon in Edinburgh to raise funds for Cerebral Palsy Scotland; notes that this is a cause close to Vivian and her family due to her son being diagnosed with a mild form of cerebral palsy at a young age; further notes that Vivian completed the 13.1-mile marathon whilst wearing splints, similar to those that her son wears; understands that this was to inspire her son and others affected by cerebral palsy and to show them that they are not limited due to their condition; notes that cerebral palsy is the name given to the group of lifelong conditions that affects movement and co-ordination; understands that there is a wide array of treatments and help available for those with cerebral palsy; congratulates Vivian on her marathon success, and wishes her and her family all the very best as they continue campaigning on this important condition.
