Dr Marie Macklin - Finalist for Business Women of the Year

The motion

That the Parliament celebrates the news that Dr Marie Macklin has been listed as a finalist for Business Women of the Year in The Scottish Women’s Awards 2022; understands that the awards recognise the inspirational role models for the next generation of girls for their hard work to influence change across industry and within their community; notes that Marie is the founder and executive chair of the Halo Urban Regeneration Company, which it understands is an imaginative, innovative and inspirational urban regeneration concept to create mixed-used developments on vacant industrial land and inspire new economic and social opportunities through net-zero community-driven projects; understands that HALO Kilmarnock works with local colleges to cultivate the skills needed to deliver and sustain HALO Kilmarnock as the first town centre net-zero carbon energy project in Scotland as well as unlock the skills needed of potential tenants and end users of the site; commends Marie’s work to set the standard for community urban villages, and wishes her all the best in finals.
