Campbeltown Brass become British Second Section Champions

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Campbeltown Brass, which won the title of British Second Section Champions at the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain held in Cheltenham; understands that Campbeltown Brass won the award for its stunning performance of composer Darrol Barry’s piece Ghosts, Goblins, Witches and Wizards; notes what it considers as the exceptional work of the band’s musical director, Stephanie Kennedy, in preparing the band for the tournament; recognises that Campbeltown Brass is only the eighth Scottish band to have won at the National Championships across all sections since the tournament was founded in 1945; hopes that this win will inspire more people to take up a brass instrument, and wishes everyone involved with Campbeltown Brass more successes into the future.
