Royal National Mòd 2022

The motion

That the Parliament recognises all those involved in the organisation of the 2022 Royal National Mòd in Perth; appreciates the hard work and preparation of all competitors who took part throughout the week of competitions and performances; congratulates Ruairidh Gray, from South Uist, and Annie Catriona Macdonald, from the Isle of Skye, on winning the 2022 prestigious Gold Medals; notes the achievements of Oban Gaelic Choir and the Black Isle Gaelic Choir in winning the coveted Lovat and Tullibardine Shield and the Margaret Duncan Memorial Trophy respectively; acknowledges what it sees as the importance of the Mòd in celebrating and promoting Gaelic culture and music, and wishes An Comunn Gàidhealach all the best with preparation for the 2023 event in Paisley. The Member has provided the following Gaelic translation: Gu bheil a’ Phàrlamaid ag aithneachadh a h-uile duine a bha an sàs ann a bhith a’ cur air dòigh Mòd Nàiseanta Rìoghail 2022 ann am Peairt; a’ cur luach air an obair chruaidh agus an ullachadh a rinn na farpaisich air fad a ghabh pàirt tron t-seachdain de cho-fharpaisean is chuirmean; a’ cur meal-a-naidheachd air Ruairidh Gray, à Uibhist a Deas, agus Anna Catrìona NicDhòmhnaill, às an Eilean Sgitheanach, airson na Buinn Òir cliùiteach a bhuannachadh; a’ toirt fa-near na choilean Còisir Ghàidhlig an Òbain agus Còisir Ghàidhlig an Eilein Duibh ann a bhith a’ buannachadh Sgiath Mhic Shimidh agus Thulaich Bhàrdainn agus Cuach Cuimhneachaidh Mairead NicDhonnchaidh fa leth; ag aithneachadh cho cudromach sa tha am Mòd le bhith a’ comharrachadh agus a’ brosnachadh cultar is ceòl na Gàidhlig, agus a’ guidhe gach soirbheachas dhan Chomunn Ghàidhealach le ullachadh airson tachartas 2023 ann am Pàislig.
