Award Granted to ADHD Rural Connect Initiative
The motion
That the Parliament celebrates the Working with Communities Award given to Countryside Learning Scotland and the Perth and Kinross ADHD Support Group at the Scottish Land Estates Helping it Happen Awards; understands that the award is granted for its new initiative ADHD Rural Connect, the first project of its kind in offering educational support into rural work across Scotland to young people with ADHD; understands that it has been reported that 39% of children with ADHD are excluded from work, with many young people facing challenges such as poor educational experiences, friendship difficulties and a lack of confidence; commends the initiative for ensuring youths with ADHD have the opportunity to reach their full potential by nurturing both their employability and life skills, and wishes the project further success in the future.
