The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Inverness veteran, Bill Dingwall, who was presented with a British Empire Medal (BEM) on Armistice Day for his voluntary service to the Royal British Legion Scotland (RBLS); recognises that, for six decades, Bill has been taking a leading role in Inverness’s main parade and ceremony by either carrying the standard or as a commander; further recognises Bill's service as a former submariner, who joined the Royal Navy in 1948, including service in the Korean War, and understands that Bill was presented with the BEM by the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Inverness, Lieutenant Colonel Douglas Young, following a short Armistice Day service and two-minute silence at Inverness Town House.
