Ayr's Roy Trivedy Receives Order of Timor-Leste

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Ayr’s Roy Trivedy on receiving the Order of Timor-Leste; believes that the award is the highest honour to be awarded by East Timor, and is in recognition of Roy’s outstanding services and contributions to the country; understands that Roy is completing a five-year assignment on the island in South East Asia and is the nation’s United Nations Resident co-ordinator; further understands that Roy worked for the UK Department for International Development for 13 years prior to joining the UN; acknowledges that the award ceremony took place at the island’s Presidential Palace and was presented by Timor-Leste President, His Excellency President Dr Jose Ramos-Horta; commends Roy for all his hard work in helping develop the nation, and wishes him well with his future endeavours.
