19th Ullapool Book Festival

The motion

That the Parliament recognises that the 19th Ullapool Book Festival is set to be the last, with the popular event set to be running for the final occasion in May 2023; notes that past guests have included crime writers, Val McDermid and Denise Mina and Miles Hunt, the lead singer of the band The Wonder Stuff; understands that for the final festival, the line-up includes novelist, Kirstin Innes, poet, Christine De Lua, former Scottish Government Health Secretary, Jeane Freeman and writer, Michael Pederson; further understands that the event includes novelists, poets, musicians, journalists and dramatists who will provide entertainment over the weekend of the event; wishes the organisers of the event every success, and pays tribute to all those involved in delivering the festival over the course of the last two decades.
