Congratulates Team GB Women's Curling Team on Winning Team of The Year Award at Scottish Sports Award 2022

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Team GB Women's Curling Team on winning the Team of the Year Award at the Scottish Sports Awards 2022, which was hosted by Team Scotland and sportscotland, and held at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre on the 7 December 2022; understands that the Team won the award for winning Gold at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, the first Olympic curling title for Team GB in 20 years, following which the Team claimed the top spot in the world rankings in early March 2022; notes that the Team GB Women's Curling Team consists of Eve Muirhead MBE, Vicky Wright, Jen Dodds, Hailey Duff, and Mili Smith; further notes that Team GB Women's Curling Team are based at the purpose-built National Curling Academy at the Stirling Sports Village, which was built, it understands, thanks to awards of £1,425,000 from sportscotland and £1,726,566 from Stirling Council.
