Eve Muirhead, Sports Personality of the Year Success

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Perth-born curler, Eve Muirhead, on her success at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year (SPOTY) awards; recognises Eve for an exceptional career that culminated in a gold medal victory at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, skippering a team of Vicky Wright, Jen Dodds, Hailey Duff and Mili Smith; notes that Eve came third in the SPOTY, the latest success in a year in which she was also granted the Freedom of Perth; understands that Eve has announced her retirement from curling; thanks her for the inspiring success achieved throughout her sporting career, and wishes her all the best in her future endeavours.
