Congratulating Declan Beckett

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Declan Beckett on claiming gold at the Boxing Scotland National Development Championships in an outstanding tournament debut performance; understands that he hopes that his big win in the novice category can be his first step towards a professional boxing career; recognises that Declan started boxing only two years ago and, over those two years, has trained and worked incredibly hard and has a terrific work ethic; notes that Declan hopes to compete in the Western District competition early in 2023; hopes that this win will be the first of many, and commends him on this achievement.
