Stonehaven Charity Shop One Year Anniversary

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Stonehaven-based Archway Charity Shop, which celebrated its one year anniversary in November 2022; understands that Archway is a parent-led local charity based in Aberdeen providing care and support to children and adults with learning disabilities and their families; believes that the charity was founded in Aberdeen in 1986 by a group of parents of children with learning disabilities who were looking for respite; further believes that Archway supports around 200 children and adults with learning difficulties in the region, through services such as respite and short breaks, home activity programmes and their 7 till 9 club; understands that Archway has an additional charity shop, based in Aberdeen city centre, and raises money in a variety of other ways, including a kilt walk and a golf outing, which is taking place in June 2023; commends the staff based in the Stonehaven shop on what it considers their successful first year, as well as others who fundraise for Archway, and wishes them continued success in 2023.
