The motion

That the Parliament congratulates attendees of Glasgow-based music programme, Ensemble, on its forthcoming concert, Songs to House Hope, at St Luke’s on 26 February 2023; understands that Ensemble supports young people who have experienced homelessness or mental health issues; notes that the organisation is run by Wheatley Care and sees young people from different communities in Scotland teaming up with professional musicians to write and record original music; further understands that Ensemble promotes making music to change lives, and that the award-winning project empowers young people who would not normally have the chance to take part in music-making and other creative activities; considers that this concert is an exciting opportunity for young people to showcase their talent, display their creative personalities and play songs that they have written to a live audience; acknowledges that, in 2021, Ensemble released its debut album, and young people are currently recording tracks for a follow-up record, and recognises that the 2023 concert will be the group's second concert at St Luke’s, having performed at the venue in 2019.
