Aberdeen International Airport Passengers Raise More Than £3,000 For Charity
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates passengers travelling through Aberdeen International Airport who have raised more than £3,000 for two local charities; understands that the money will be donated to charity partners Kayleigh’s Wee Stars and We Too!; understands that the money was collected through three collection globes positioned across the airport, in which passengers could donate any left-over currency, with dozens of different global currencies collected including Croatian Kunas, Turkish Lira, Polish Zloty, Singaporean Dollars, South African Rands and Israeli New Shekels; believes that charity partner Kayleigh’s Wee Stars aims to take the financial burden away from parents to allow them to spend time with their child when they have received a medical diagnosis; considers that We Too! is an Aberdeen-based charity that empowers families of children with disabilities, and commends Aberdeen International Airport and its staff for the charity fundraisers they continue to organise, including a runway run, a bake off and raffles.
