Helensburgh Tennis Champion Gordon Reid wins the 2023 Australian Open Wheelchair Doubles

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Helensburgh wheelchair tennis champion, Gordon Reid, who has won an incredible 20th Grand Slam wheelchair doubles title; notes that 16 of these wins came with fellow British player, Alfie Hewett; understands that the victory at the Australian Open in Melbourne came from beating Dutch players, 6-1, 6-2, in one hour and three minutes in the final at Melbourne Park; commends the pair on their fourth successive Australian Open doubles title, and the fifth time the former Hermitage Academy pupil has lifted the tournament’s doubles trophy, and wishes Gordon every success for the future.
