Bearsden Actor and Filmmaker Wins International Awards for Film “Norm”

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates 22-year-old Daniel Kerr, an actor and filmmaker from Bearsden, on winning awards at the Phoenix Shorts and the Dark Fest, as well as being nominated at the Paris International Short Festival, the Swedish International Film Festival, the Body Positive Film Festival and the Orlando Film Festival; understands that Daniel's film, Norm, centres around a character who feels the need to dramatically and unrealistically lose weight to avoid the negative body image pressures that so many people face in today's world; appreciates the film's message about unrealistic beauty standards, and wishes Daniel every success for the future.
