Making Falkirk Colourful Mental Health Project Launched by Students

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates five high school students from across the Falkirk district on the launch of their project, which, it understands, is designed to improve mental health and wellbeing; recognises that Ewan Taylor, Jessica Stirling, Kirsty Emslie, Euan McGuire and Connor Sweeney conceptualised their Making Falkirk Colourful project as part of their participation in the Mark Scott Leadership for Life Award; notes that the Leadership for Life Award supports young people to develop their confidence and build upon their life skills, while participants collaborate in small groups to deliver a real life project within their communities; understands that the Making Falkirk Colourful project produced a colouring book, which is filled with inspirational quotes, pictures, advice on mental health challenges and a note page to record thoughts and feelings; further understands that, alongside the physical print, access to these pages is available online, offering the public permanent access to this resource free of charge; notes the fundraising efforts of the group, who hosted a bake sale and a charity fencing match to support their project; congratulates Ewan, Jessica, Kirsty, Euan and Connor on their Making Falkirk Colourful project, and wishes them all the best for the future.
