Janice Allan Named Auchinleck’s Citizen of the Year 2023

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Auchinleck's Janice Allan, on being named Citizen of the Year by Auchinleck Community Council; notes that an event was held at the Boswell Centre on 4 February 2023 with the local community and councillors; understands that Janice was presented the award for the hard work she does locally and for the wider community; further understands that she plays an active role raising funds for charity, and, through the Auchinleck’s Crochet Club, she creates pieces for premature babies at the local hospital; notes that she attends the local care home, Glennie House, once a month, where she carries out crochet projects with the residents; understands that local supermarket, Tesco, supports Janice and the crochet club displaying their projects to raise funds for Poppy Scotland and other charities; commends Janice for all her hard work in supporting the local community, promoting mental health and reducing loneliness, and wishes her all the best in her future endeavours.
