Strathallan School, Six Nations Success

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Strathallan School alumni, Jamie Ritchie, Matt Fagerson, Zander Fagerson and George Horne, on their efforts as part of the Scotland men’s rugby team’s 35-7 victory over Wales in the Six Nations on 11 February 2023 at Murrayfield; notes that Jamie is Scotland’s captain, and that all four players contributed significantly to the result, which saw Scotland lift the Doddie Weir Cup, named in tribute to the rugby legend, Doddie Weir, who recently died from motor neurone disease; considers that the achievement of all four players is testament to the coaching and education that they received at Strathallan School, which it understands has a notable heritage for developing talented rugby players and has what are regarded as some of the best facilities in Scotland; wishes the players and their teammates the best of luck for the remaining matches in the Six Nations campaign, and further wishes Strathallan School continued success with its role in developing future generations of sporting stars.
