The motion

That the Parliament commends Scottish Trauma Teddies, based in Falkirk, for its recent generous donation of 50 teddy bears to the Children’s Ward at Forth Valley Royal Hospital; understands that volunteers, who are skilled at knitting and crochet, create and donate these teddies free of charge, sending them on to Scottish Trauma Teddies to be distributed where required; acknowledges that these teddies are made for children who need the comfort they can provide, either due to trauma, illness or difficult circumstances; notes that Scottish Trauma Teddies donated 211 teddies in 2022 across the Forth Valley region, including to St John’s Hospital and Trunk Roads Incident Support Service, to support children involved in accidents or a breakdown; believes that the support that Scottish Trauma Teddies provides to young children would not be possible without the volunteers who craft the teddies to a specific, safety-focused pattern; further congratulates Scottish Trauma Teddies and its volunteer crafters for their efforts and generosity towards children in times of trauma and distress, and wishes them all the best for the future.
