International Women's Day 2023

The motion

That the Parliament recognises the achievements of women around the world on International Women’s Day on 8 March 2023; welcomes the 2023 theme of #EmbraceEquity, which seeks to open up the conversation about why equal opportunities are no longer enough, and that equity is the means through which to achieve equality; believes in a world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination; notes the calls to raise awareness about discrimination, to celebrate women who forge change in society, and to build equity in all areas of society, including in healthcare, and further notes the belief that it is incumbent on all politicians to work together to pursue true equity for the benefit of women across the whole of society.
