Cumnock’s Marge Paterson Named Citizen of the Year

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Marge Paterson, from Cumnock, on being named Citizen of the Year by the Keir McTurk Committee; understands that Marge has been recognised for her years of volunteering throughout the community for almost three decades; further understands that Marge has been working locally at Words of Wisdom Coffee and Book Shop in Cumnock since 1995; understands that Marge taught local school pupils Gaelic and hand bell ringing, and that those pupils went on to perform for a royal audience at Dumfries House; further understands that, as well as her work in Words of Wisdom, she is also a relief organist at Lugar and Old Cumnock churches; commends Marge for all of her hard work in the local community, and wishes her all the best in her future endeavours.
