The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Callum Deboys, from Prestwick, on competing in and reaching the final three of Next Level Chef; notes that the finals were hosted by renowned chef, Gordon Ramsay, and aired on 2 March 2023; understands that Callum began his journey in hospitality working at a small village restaurant, the Kirkmichael Arms, as a kitchen porter, before moving on to work at Trump Turnberry Hotel as a pastry chef at just 19 years old; further understands that, in June 2017, Callum was in a lifechanging accident and decided to train as a Paralympian, and went on to compete in the 2019 World Championships and the 2022 Paralympic Winter Games; understands that Next Level Chef had around 3,000 applicants, and that entry to the show required Callum to film home videos of himself cooking, and then compete in a cook-off with 40 additional chefs; believes this to be the beginning of Callum’s journey back into professional cooking, and wishes him continued success and all the best in his future endeavours.
