Congratulations to Abby Cook on Becoming the New Presenter of Blue Peter

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Abby Cook on her appointment as the new presenter of the iconic children's television programme, Blue Peter; understands that Abby Cook is a wheelchair racer; believes that she is a role model for young people and has shown that with determination and hard work, anything is possible; recognises what it sees as the importance of positive representation in the media and is pleased to see that Blue Peter has appointed a disabled person, who, it believes, will inspire young people across Scotland and beyond; hopes that her appointment will encourage more diversity and representation in the media, particularly for disabled people, and wishes her every success in her new role.
