Lochgelly Health Centre

That the Parliament recognises what it sees as the hard work and dedication of local campaigners, who have spent over a decade making the case for a new health centre for Lochgelly; is severely disappointed that the Scottish Government has now confirmed that it will not be allocating funds until 2025 at the very earliest, with no date confirmed for when the new health centre will actually open; understands that the new facility was promised to be completed by 2019, and then again by 2022, but that work has never started; considers this to be a blow to the local residents, who have been campaigning for such a long time for what they believe to be a much-needed new health centre; recognises that the Lochgelly Health Centre was reportedly falling into a bad state of disrepair as far back as 2012, with the situation only getting worse, resulting in buckets being used to catch the water when it rains, due to roof leaks; condemns reports that, according to NHS Fife, the over £13 million needed to build the new health centre is "unlikely" to be in place "within the initially anticipated timescales"; believes that it is completely unacceptable to have medical staff working in such conditions, and further believes that the residents of Lochgelly deserve a health centre that is fit for purpose.
