University of Strathclyde Peri Dynamics Research Centre

The motion

That the Parliament applauds what it sees as the world-class Peri Dynamics research group at the Department of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Marine Engineering at the University of Strathclyde; notes that the research is led by Professor Erkan Oterkus and focuses on a wide range of materials used for next generation hypersonic flights, offshore platforms, lithium batteries and submarines; understands that it is the only Peri Dynamics research centre in the world; commends the university on its hosting of the 27th International Conference on Port and Ocean Engineering under Arctic Conditions (POAC23) in Glasgow in June 2023, in which 200 participants from over 30 countries will participate to bring together academia and industry to create synergy, and wishes everyone involved with this conference the very best of success.
