Sportscotland Supports Stewarton Tennis Club

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the news that Stewarton Tennis Club has received a £100,000 investment from sportscotland; understands that the investment will be used to develop Stewarton Tennis Club’s new clubhouse to widen access to participation and allow people to progress further within their chosen sport locally; further understands that the investment was funded through the National Lottery and awarded through sportscotland’s Our Sport Facilities Fund, which supports capital projects that create or improve places where people take part in sport and physical activity; believes that early engagement in sport has well-documented physical and mental benefits; commends the club on what it sees as its inclusive approach to involve all ages in sport by engaging local schools and offering low-cost coaching at weekends and during holidays; notes that Stewarton Tennis Club is celebrating its centenary in 2023, and wishes it all the best this year and in the future.
